We have a small animal facility and charge perdiem's for animal care and
use.
Animal Care Staff and supplies and maintenance are paid from F&A recovery.

There is talk of supporting Animal Care Staff directly from salary lines
on NIH grants, using a best guess as to time and effort each staff member
would devote to the specific NIH project.

I'd appreciate input regarding operational charges to your facility.
Perhaps the pros and cons and pitfalls of direct charges to grants for
Animal Care Staff salaries.
