Cornell University, founded in 1865, is both a private, endowed
university and the federal land-grant institution of New York State. As

dollars of sponsored research conducted on an annual basis. The main

agricultural research sites throughout New York; the Arecibo Observatory
in Puerto Rico; and academic study centers in New York City, Washington,

University Cooperative Extension has resource offices in every county of
New York.

We are seeking a collaborative, proactive, uniquely competent, service
minded individual to strategically direct the initiatives our Office of
Sponsored Programs.

As a senior executive within the leadership team of the Associate Vice
President for Research and the Senior Vice Provost for Research you will
independently manage the activities of The Office of Sponsored Programs
and have overall responsibility for supporting university faculty and
staff in pursuing and conducting sponsored research and outreach.

Specifically you will:

· Assume overall responsibility for the Institutional Review of over
$300 million in sponsored research activity on our Ithaca campus across
a broad array of academic disciplines including the agricultural
sciences, physical sciences, engineering, life sciences, veterinary
medicine, computer and information sciences, social sciences, and
humanities.

· Identify and advise the Associate Vice President, Senior Vice Provost,
and other university executives on policy issues and external issues
such as pending or new regulations, agency funding stances and award
conditions that may impact the ability of researchers and the
institutions ability to compete for funding, obtain research related
support, and maintain the principles and requirements for stewardship.

· Inspire, develop and collaborate with a talented, customer-focused
team of directors to deliver services that will not only meet the needs
of but also enhance the productivity, efficiency, and compliance of
researchers, research administrators, and central management staff.

· Cross functionally collaborate with executive staff, college research
and business officers to ensure the effective delivery of services and
management of sponsored awards, including sponsored financials,
compliance and technology transfer.

· Develop and implement institution and department management reports,
outreach communication strategies and represent the institution on
university committees, peer and professional consortiums, and with
legislative and funding agencies to ensure the competitiveness of
institution expertise and services.

administration, grants management, application of research policies,

minimizing an organization’s compliance risk associated with sponsored
