A while back I was approached by the Director of our Campus Central Distribution/Post Office to see if there were grant funds available for security equipment related to post office operations, i.e. Anthrax, explosive detection, etc. ... or any other related security issues. Does anyone know any sources for this kind of funding? Thanks, S. But we did just receive a grant from the Virginia Dept of Criminal Justice Services which had federal funds available for School and Campus Safety. The grant is for training university police officers on our campus and another in Richmond for rapid response to intruders, active shooters, etc. We have also gotten funds for campus police from the state DMV and ABC departments for equipment and patrols. If my memory serves me correctly, federal Homeland Security funds only to the states and not to institutions. Is that correct? Also, any ideas of funding sources. Thanks, Cheryl S.
