ASSISTANT PROVOST

THE POSITION: The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) invites applications for Assistant Provost. This position oversees pre-award, academic compliance, and post-award responsibilities. The Assistant Provost reports to the Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School and provides leadership in continuing to expand a growing program of sponsored research.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (ABD considered); be qualified for faculty rank in an academic department at UCA; possess strong managerial and communication skills; demonstrate ability to mentor persons from diverse disciplines; have a familiarity with funding sources, an understanding of federal regulations, and knowledge of compliance requirements associated with grants/contracts; and have five years experience working in a sponsored programs office or equivalent.

RESEARCH COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR
(Sponsored Programs Office)
POSITION & MINIMUM REQUREMENTS:The Research Compliance Coordinator (RCC) is responsible for the oversight, administration,interpretation, and implementation of federal and state regulations, and the institutional policies and procedures related to research compliance, in the areas of human subject protection, animal care and use, radiation safety, financial conflict of interest, and integrity and misconduct in research. The RCC will keep current on compliance issues through the internet, newsletters, publications, and national and regional conferences. The RCC will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with individuals at various levels within the research community; for supervising graduate assistants and/or office staff devoted to the direct support of research and compliance; for developing and tracking the annual compliance budget; and for developing institutional education and training programs, as appropriate, in the responsible conduct of research in the compliance areas.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The position requirements include a bachelor's degree with a major in psychology, science, sociology, public administration, business or a related field; a master's degree with some knowledge of research is preferred; the ability to interpret and apply regulations, policies and procedures in a fair, reasonable, and service-oriented manner; excellent communication skills; ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive tasks involving confidential material; self-motivated with the ability to work in teams; and flexible, innovative, and able to maintain a sense of humor and perspective in a challenging environment.
