I have set up a petty cash checking accounts specifically for the research
grant/program, and the research coordinator prepared the checks and
reconciled the account, the PI signed the checks. The canceled checks and
bank records were kept with the other confidential records along with the
records of the participants of the study. Both the PI and the Res.
Coordinator were in compliance of HIPAA confidentiality.
