Our purchasing policies have always been this restrictive but recent audits
have caused more attention to be paid to adherence.  The process is only
burdensome when we get to the 25k RFP process.  What I failed to mention
however is that vendors can become "pre-approved" by the State Treasury and
as such have been screened.  Using a State approved vendor makes it much
easier regardless of the dollar amount.   Joe

Joe,

Has this always been the threshold limit for POs, or
was the limit revised after the audit findings?  Just
curious.  Seems pretty restrictive and burdensome in
terms of administrative processing effort and for
timely project/grant startup and general operation
projections.

If you work with Paul Nguyen, please let him know I
said "Hi" and it was good meeting him in Cambridge at
the NE SRA meeting!
