We are looking at redesigning our procedures for outgoing
sub-agreements (when we are the prime recipient) and I would
appreciate any input you are willing to provide on best practices.
Some of the points you could address are:
1. Who and what triggers the initiate of a sub-agreement? (PI,
department, Sponsored Research Office, other?)
2. What approvals are required?
3. Do you require a requisition/purchase order?
4. Do you use the standard agreement created by the Federal
Demonstration Partnership?
5. How long does it generally take between award set-up and final agreement?
6. What are some of the problem areas?
7. What would your ideal process be and do you have it? If not,
what would you fix?
