Grants and Contracts Specialist I, UCP VI
The UCONN School of Engineering Dean's Office is seeking candidates for
the position of Grants and Contracts Specialist I, UCP VI. The
successful candidate will monitor and review sponsored research grants
and contracts to assure compliance with fiscal and procedural
regulations and requirements established by sponsoring agencies, State
of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut. This candidate will
work under the direction of the Dean and Associate Dean for Outreach and
Research in the School of Engineering and the Office of Sponsored
Programs.
Primary duties will consist of serving as the School of Engineering's
coordinator to assist in preparation for all pre-award research
proposals to include preparation of proposal budgets; reviews
grant/contract proposals to assure fiscal compliance; monitors grant
expenditures, accounts receivable and fund balances; serve as liaison
for the School to the Office of Sponsored Programs and to develop
processes to streamline proposal submission.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in appropriate field and four years
relevant experience or eight years relevant experience involving
accounting, budgeting and contracting; knowledge of federal laws and
regulations regarding grants and contract; knowledge and/or experience
in program served and of State statutes pertaining to grants/contracts
is preferred; ability to work and communicate effectively with faculty,
staff and management; knowledge of software computer programs; attention
to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Salary commensurate with
experience. This is a one year, end date position subject to annual
renewal.
