TITLE:	Senior Officer
ORG. TYPE:  Higher Education/Confidential
LOCATION:  NY, NY
SALARY: 	$75K - $90K

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Senior Officer will be
responsible for a broad range of pre- and post-award activities that relate to
research funding (75% pre-award, 25% post-award).  S/he will oversee the
smooth processing of grant proposals, supporting the faculty in grant
administration, and serve as a liaison between faculty members and the
Institutional Review Board and other relevant offices to ensure that all
requisite ethical and compliance reviews have been finalized according to
federal mandate. Post-award responsibilities require knowledge of OMB
regulations that govern the financial management of grants and contracts.
S/he will support the departmental and scientific community, responding to
inquiries regarding policies and practices, and providing management solutions.
The Senior Officer will review all incoming awards for accuracy and
consistency with University and sponsor policies, negotiate terms and
conditions, and authorize the establishment, extension and termination of fund
accounts. The Senior Officer will assist or review the work of junior officers
when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:  This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree as well as 4+
years of experience in research or research administration. The ideal candidate
will demonstrate competencies and knowledge of regulations as they pertain to
government and non-government funding agencies, and private non-profit
regulations related to research grants and contracts. S/he will be able to work
independently, have proven management and communication skills as well as
experience developing relationships with diverse groups. Working Knowledge of
MS Office Suite, Pure Edge, and Fast Lane are required.
