A student may be the PI but there must be a faculty mentor on the IRB protocol who will be responsible.

Can a student be the PI on the IRB proposal or do you require the
facuilty to be PI (for independent research as well as dissertations
etc.,)? And when there is a problem (document incomprehensible
etc.,) who would contact for concerns?
Any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated!
