Mike,

I also emailed the support desk because I had a person in one of the departmental units open it with Adobe Professional and she also received no error message. But to me Vince did not advise you if you could use Adobe Professional to complete and/or review the application (without corrupting the package). Much less submit the application without any errors. I was hoping that G.g would get to the point, as Bob Beattie put in a previous email, that we would be able to use Adobe Professional.

Hi Mike,

Everyone in my office who uses Pro did not get the error. It had been my
understanding (or misunderstanding) that any version of Pro would
corrupt the package and that only the free Reader would work. Here's the
response I got from Vince at Grants.gov:

Kristie,

The following versions WILL NOT receive the error message:

Windows 7.0.8, 7.0.9, 8.1.1, 8.1.2

Mac-Intel 7.0.9, 8.1.1, 8.1.2

Mac-PPC 7.0.9, 8.1.1, 8.1.2

Professional 7.0.8 USES Reader 7.0.8 that's why no error message was
displayed.

Thanks,

Subject: [RESADM-L] Grants.gov Adobe Version test

http://grants.gov/applicants/AdobeVersioningTestOnly.jsp

Has anyone else tried this new tool by grants.gov? When I tried to open
the file with only Acrobat Pro 8.1.1 it gave me the correct error. I
installed Reader 8.1.2 and opened the link (in Pro) and it didn't give
me the error. It seems to me that this version test isn't working
properly because it allowed me to open the application using pro.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

Cheers.

Mike
