I have a question on trainee tuition for training grants.  I understand when
we put in our budget when we receive it back from NIH it has been calculated
at the correct formula $3,000 + 60% above.

As an example, a trainee brings me a tuition bill for $4,800, is it
allowable to pay the entire $4,800 tuition bill anyway?  We have funds
remaining from a tuition carryover from prior years and TRE funds which PI
has approved to be used for this type of expense.  I've heard conflicting
answers, so hoping someone here is the Training Grant Expert (how we love them).
