Director of Sponsored Programs Accounting and Administration
Full-time, fiscal year, exempt position

The University of Maine System Office of Finance and Treasurer invites
applications for the
position of Director of Sponsored Programs Accounting and
Administration. This position
plays a key role in providing fiscal and accounting direction and
oversight related to
sponsored programs for the UMS seven universities.

Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Controller, the
successful candidate will
have broad responsibilities in all areas of sponsored programs
accounting and administration,
including the lead role in policy development, facilities and
administrative (F&A) cost rate
proposal development, compliance monitoring oversight, related system
implementations,
business process improvements, financial monitoring and analytical
review of sponsored
programs accounting (including financial aid), and operational issues.
The position has
responsibility for substantively establishing and monitoring related
internal financial controls.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related
area. At least five years
of demonstrated success in sponsored programs management in a large,
complex
organization. Knowledge of sophisticated enterprise resource planning
systems. Strong
accounting and internal control skills. Experience working with
colleagues on key issues,
delivering high quality customer service. Excellent communication and
problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education including F&A
rate proposal and
DS-2 preparation.

The salary range for the position is $60,000 to $70,000 commensurate
with experience. The
