Hello everyone,
I wonder if any schools would be willing to share their policies or
guidelines governing payments to faculty for consulting on sponsored
agreements.
Generally, faculty are paid against sponsored agreements during the
summer months (June to August) and the rate of pay is determined based
on their academic year salary (basic A-21). But can they also be paid
additional amounts by the university during the academic year (over and
above their academic year salary) for consulting (on sponsored
agreements)? or for consulting during the summer in excess of three
additional months of academic year salary?
When I refer to consulting above, I mean consulting for the university
either on their own sponsored agreements or those of other PI's.
We don't attempt to monitor external consulting.
Appreciate your thoughts (and your policies if you are willing to share
them). Thanks,
Bob
