THIS POSITION MAY FILL AT A HIGHER LEVEL.
GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide general research administration support to KPCO's
investigators and support staff. Specific duties may include the development
and preparation of grant/contract and industry sponsored applications,
including clarification of policies with funding agencies; preparing and editing
budgets and budget narratives; ensuring all application directives are met and
responded to appropriately under strict deadlines. In coordination with
Research Accountants, assist Investigators with project management, i.e.
budget management, including personnel allocation and budget projections.
Monitor grant/contract funding and ensure compliance with contract or grant
guidelines in collaboration with fellow research administrators. Maintain
research project and general resource databases. Prepare, negotiate and
administer study contracts. Duties may change as required by varying
demands of the position. As a member of the Clinical Research Unit (CRU), you
will be held accountable for compliance with federal, state, institutional, and
departmental requirements. You will be trained on Health Insurance Portability
and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for Researchers and on Human Research
Participant Protection; completion of training will be documented.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience in business,
health research or related field. Masters degree preferred. Previous experience
(usually 2+ years) in research administration and or project management.
Experience with a non-profit research institute, preparing and/or managing
grants and contracts from NIH, private foundations and
pharmaceutical/biotech companies preferred. Ability to interpret and apply
federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures relative to the
administration of research activities. Ability to manage multiple projects with
concurrent deadlines required. Strong computer background required,
proficiency in database use, MS Excel, Access and Word preferred. Excellent
interpersonal skills required as well as ability to work with all levels of personnel
in the organization.
SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $3879 - $4945 (Monthly)
