Our research institute is growing and we are in need of staff who may be
able to cover positions temporarily while recruitment is in progress. I
am posting this to assist an academic unit that is currently
short-staffed. I am hoping that someone on the list may be interested,
or have a colleague who may be interested in this opportunity:

Position: Departmental Administrator - assisting a new Department
Chair/Clinical Director with a significant research portfolio
Duration:  short-term temporary, approx 2 months
Location: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles CA
Hours: negotiable, 50% - 100% time
Must be located in Southern California within commuting distance (travel
will not be paid)

Skills required: Ability to prepare and assemble research proposals -
extensive experience with NIH proposals required. Must be able to
develop complex budgets e.g. Program Projects and Center grants. Current
expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat
Writer; comfort with heavy email and internet usage. Experience with
post-award financial management including budget/expenditure analysis
and expense forecasting. Ability to meet grant deadlines and manage
shifting priorities.
