NIH publishes proposed rule in the FR to allow multiple awards under a single application
Pamela T. Plotkin 09 Jul 2007 09:26 EST
The NIH recently published a proposed rule that would allow them to
recognize more than one PI, for the purpose of issuing separate awards
under one grant application, and thus preclude the need for subawards in
some circumstances.
"In some cases ... it may be desirable to disaggregate a single
application to make more than one award," the NIH notice states. "For
example, in the case of an application for support of a project that
involves more than one principal investigator affiliated with more than
one institution, it may be desirable to administer the project with more
than one award. In addition, applications that involve subprojects may
be disaggregated into separate awards to improve scientific management."
Comments on the proposed rule are due to NIH by Aug. 24. Link to June 25

.
Cheers,
Pam
