JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:         PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR I                        Job
Location:  Dulie Bell Building - College Station, TX
Department:  POST AWARD PROJECT MANAGEMENT        Work Hours:    M-F
8:00 to 5:00

 Monthly Rate of Pay:  $2,773

RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate administrative and financial details between TAMRF,
researchers, sponsors and other administrative offices with an emphasis
on post-award administration of sponsored projects. Establishes accounts
in the TAMRF accounting system and provides administration of research
projects. Reviews award terms and conditions, cost sharing requirements,
award budget, sponsor regulations, deliverable requirements,
System/Foundation Policies, and prepares Award Notices. Approves
financial commitments and monitors financial and administrative
requirements. Provides financial and regulatory information to
researchers, staff, university officials and sponsors and assists with
problem resolutions. With assistance coordinates project continuation
and time extension requests. Serves as the business point of contact for
sponsors. Provides assistance as needed to Research Administrator II and
Senior Research Administrators. Other duties as required.

EDUCATION
 REQUIRED
 Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of relevant training
and experience. (eight years experience
 with high school graduation or four years with an Associate's
degree)

 PREFERRED
 Prefer Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration.

EXPERIENCE
 REQUIRED
 Two years experience in administration in a university, or business
environment. Ability to work under
 constant deadline pressure. Excellent organizational skills with the
ability to prioritize and manage a large
 volume of work. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as
well as proofreading skills. Proficiency
 using word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications with
good attention to detail and ability to
 work productively within a group. Strong commitment to customer
service. If selected for an interview, a
 skills assessment test at the TAMU Employee Service Center is
required for keyboarding, MS Word 2000,
 and MS Excel 2000.

 PREFERRED
 Experience in sponsored projects management and accounting is
preferred.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
This is a security sensitive position. Employment in a position
designated as security sensitive will be contingent on the results of a
criminal background check at the point of hire. This position is with
the Texas A&M Research Foundation; a private non-profit corporation
separate from Texas A&M University. Therefore, service time will not
