Hello-
I also have a procurement-related question. We recently revised our
procurement policies and included a category of purchase (less than $5k)
that we deem "small dollar purchase" that does not require getting
quotations. These types of purchases are generally made using our p-card.
The auditor today asked me how we know we got the lowest possible price for
small dollar purchases if no quotations are required.

We reviewed what seemed like hundreds of procurement policies when we were
in the process of revising ours, and I know this is common practice. What I
don't know is how to respond to the auditor. I'm wondering if any
procurement-types out there can give me a good citation to justify no
quotations for small dollars purchases (up to the couple thousand dollar
range.)
