Re: Grants.gov saving files Robert Beattie 30 Mar 2007 15:08 EST

We might see a full document printing capability with the new Adobe
Forms version. This enhancement was on everyone's list. In a few
weeks, when that new version is released, we will see what archiving
options there are. I would print to a .pdf file to save it.

A fully printable/savable version of applications are now available
in the HHS Commons.

For other agencies, I would suggest that you decide what you need
from the PureEdge version, and print those, to .pdf. PureEdge Viewer
will be available until October.

We are in the process of moving entirely to electronic document filing
and just realized that (surprise) grants.gov is a problem.

As you know, NSF FASTLANE (which we all love) gives you back a PDF
version of your proposal which we can file. (It also serves as an
indication that what NSF received was what you transmitted.) With g.g,
since there is no way to get a full copy of the proposal back, what
documentation do you maintain of the proposal?

We also have some concern about the proposals that have gone out via
the PureEdge software. What happens to all of those when PureEdge is
phased out later that year and when the software is no longer available?
(We're burning a copy of the software to a CD for reinstallation when we
replace PCs.)
