Clinical Trials and Community Practice Susan Sutherland, Ph.D. 29 Jan 2007 15:33 EST

Dear Group-

This question is for those who are conducting industry-sponsored clinical trials where the investigators are employed by a private practice, i.e. they have privileges in a hospital.

1. How are the Agreements structured?
 a. Three party: Sponsor, MD Practice, Hospital.
 b. Two party agreements:(1) Sponsor & MD Practice, (2) MD Practice & Hospital, (3) Sponsor & Hospital
2. Who employs the research coordinators?
 a. Private Practice
 b. Hospital
3. Who negotiates the budget for the trial?

Many thanks to all of you for taking time to answer these questions. The ListServ is a great resource and I certainly appreciate your willingness to share information.

-Susan
