Re: Grants.gov file formats

All SF 424 electronic attachments must be PDF files.
To create a PDF from a Web pages is a bit convoluted. You first need to
print to a file and specify the full file location and name (with an
extension of .PRN or no extension at all). Then open Acrobat Distiller
and using Distiller to open the file you just "printed." Now you can
convert the file to a PDF.
hope this helps. Elsa

Is anyone out there working on a DOD, Grants.gov submission that
requires attaching the Pre-Application (LOI) to the application
package?
The guidelines instruct us to download the LOI from the funder's
website
and attach it to block 20 on the SF424. We are having difficulty
downloading the LOI from the CDMRP website in an acceptable file
format.
We've called CDMRP a couple of times but the outcome still results in
a
document in xml format.
I've also tried to determine the range of file formats that Grants.gov
will accept. I know NIH is pdf only and some other agencies will
accept
Word docs and possibly Excel files. I'm not having any luck finding
out
exactly which formats are acceptable in the SF424 package. I've
searched
the Grants.gov website and the Applicant User Guide but don't find any
info on file formats...and the DOD solicitation provides no guidance
either.
Anyone running into the same difficulty? Have you been advised of a
"work around"?
