Senior Contract Negotiator II
The Senior Contract Negotiator II position is responsible to the
Associate Director, Office of Sponsored Research at the Texas
Engineering Experiment Station located in College Station, Texas. The
position negotiates contracts and assists with post-award contract
administration duties. The position writes and reviews agreements and
negotiates with sponsors/subcontractors for rights in technical data and
intellectual property, publication rights, price, payment and billing
procedures, title to equipment, travel regulations, institutional
contributions, etc. Reviews and negotiates terms and conditions of
award documents to ensure compliance with TEES and Texas A&M University
System policies, Federal and State law. Assists PIs with administrative
support of research funding and disseminates related federal agency and
sponsor information. Prepares project set-up documents outlining the
basic guidelines of each agreement.
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant training
and experience (eights years experience with high school graduation or
four years with an associate's degree) are required for the position.
Work experience should include 8 years of professional experience in
contract negotiations and/or project administration in a research
administration environment. Working knowledge of federal grant and
contract regulations and practical application of current research
administration issues are a must. Designation as a Certified Research
Administrator is preferred.
