Hi Brian,
I've worked in records management before and we always used really
powerful magnets to destroy electronic media. If you go that route, then
you may want to test a few videos after you hold a magnet against them
just to make sure that you can't view them.
Of course pulling all the tape out and shredding would work well too,
although probably not as efficiently.
