Mary,
Two responses: (1) Check the UCLA grants administration glossary at
http://www.research.ucla.edu/ocga/sr2/gloss.htm and (2) visit the
University of North Carolina system's definition of "sponsored programs"
at
http://www.northcarolina.edu/content.php/aa/departments/research/sparc/s
padmin.htm (click on either the Word or PDF version of the document at
the second bullet).
Hope this helps,
Paul

Subject: [RESADM-L] Difinitions needed
Can someone please give me a clear easily understood definition of the
following:
Grant
Contract
Sponsored Program
Also, I am establishing an Advisory Group for the newly established
Office of Sponsored Programs and Research at Governors State University.
Do others have such a group and, if so, can you give me some insight
into how to direct such a group? What criteria is used for establishing
and staffing the group and what are the general areas of concern such a
group might address?
Please reply off list.
Thank you.
