Mary --

You might try the following for Sponsored Program:

Sponsored program

Externally funded activities in which a formal written grant, contract,
or cooperative agreement. A sponsored program or project may be thought
of as a transaction in which there is a specified statement of work and
a related reciprocal transfer of something of value.

It is what we use.

Can someone please give me a clear easily understood definition of the
following:

 Grant

 Contract

 Sponsored Program

Also, I am establishing an Advisory Group for the newly established
Office of Sponsored Programs and Research at Governors State University.

Do others have such a group and, if so, can you give me some insight
into how to direct such a group? What criteria is used for establishing
and staffing the group and what are the general areas of concern such a
group might address?

Please reply off list.

Thank you.
