President Bush on Thursday morning issued an executive order setting
2007 salary levels for federal employees.  The Executive Level One
salary level has been set at $186,600.  By legislation, the NIH salary
cap is tied to this salary level. The 2006 level was $183,500.  The
$3,100 difference represents a 1.7 percent increase.
