Travel costs on-campus or off-campus rate David Hollingsworth 19 Dec 2006 17:35 EST

Folks,

I need some words to help justify using the on-campus rate for the
international travel cost on a project.  We have a project that will
involve 6 international trips per year to various foreign countries.
This will be average duration of 6 days.  Over the 5 year project this
adds up to about a third of the total project costs.

We typically charge the full overhead rate for travel costs.  The
procurement official is questioning this and so far my explanation of
the wording on our rate agreement is not getting through to him.

Any words of explanation?
