Colleagues:  My institution is in the process of realigning
infrastructure to better manage our growing research portfolio.  One
area of interest is how to manage student financial aid accounting
effectively.  Currently, our sponsored programs office provides
accounting services to the Student Financial Services area.  We are
studying relocation of these activities to another office.

Under the current process, the sponsored programs post-award division
sets up account numbers annually for Student Financial Services for
various loan programs, work-study, etc.

In addition, the post-award office has drawn-down funds for these
programs, and has made adjustments to the accounts as directed by either
our Controller, Budget Office or Student Financial Services.=20

I would appreciate your assistance in helping us determine a best
practice for management of student financial aid accounts by asking you
to complete the survey below.  I'll post de-identified results to the
listserv.
