Re: NIH AREA and Grants.Gov

The narrative that is asked for in the R&R Other Project Information
form is a section of the abstract/summary. The summary used to have two
sections. They now want the second part (which they are calling the
narrative for G.G purpose) separately.
From the NIH G.G guide:
For NIH and other PHS agencies applications, this attachment will
reflect the second component of the Project Summary. The second
component of the Project Summary/Abstract is RELEVANCE. Using no more
than two or three sentences, describe the relevance of this research to
PUBLIC health. In this section, be succinct and use plain language that
can be understood by a general, lay audience.

Subject: [RESADM-L] NIH AREA and Grants.Gov
Maybe it's just the Friday-itis creeping in, but I'm having issues with
grants.gov forms for an upcoming NIH AREA. The PHS 398 Research Plan
Form makes it clear that we need to upload each section of the project
description separately. No problem. Another required form, the Research
and Related Other Project Information Form has two required fields,
highlighted in bright yellow, for the project summary and narrative to
be uploaded. Isn't the narrative the same as the Research Plan? Or do I
have to go find the *$(# instructions again?
