The Narrative is one of the real differences between the 398 and SF424.
For research grants the narrative is 2-3 sentences speaking to the relevance of the work to human health, written in not-so-technical language.
In SOME cases (S10?) , the Narrative piece was used as the project plan.
Check the AREA guidelines.

Another required form, the Research and Related Other Project Information Form has two required fields, highlighted in bright yellow, for the project summary and narrative to be uploaded. Isn't the narrative the same as the Research Plan? Or do I have to go find the *$(# instructions again?
