Yes, Central Michigan University had such a program but we discontinued it a few years ago. It's probably still a good idea, but there's only so much time in the day...

We are just starting to do the same thing. I think Central Michigan University has such a program and is successful. Am I right CMU?

Subject: [RESADM-L] Faculty Mentoring Program - Research and Proposal Development
We are thinking about embarking on a new program for working with the faculty on research and proposal development. The idea is to seek faculty members who have successful track records of obtaining competitive funding to serve as mentors for younger faculty. These mentors would be called "Senior Research Fellows," and would sign on for a 2-year rotation. Their duties would be to proactively work with faculty members to develop their research ideas, put them to paper, and submit them to competitive programs. We would like to know if anyone does something similar, and how much success you've had with it.
Thank you.
