Bad debt policies or funds? shane 31 Jul 2006 15:04 EST

Are there established policies out there for covering bad debt on
restricted accounts? If a sponsor goes bankrupt and sticks your institution
for a considerable portion of "the award", how does that get covered and
who covers it? Does anyone have a central fund to cover bad debt? If so,
who manages the account, who governs the expenditure from the account, and
where does the budget come from to populate the account? Any links to
institutional policies would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Shane
