Grant & Contract Administrator
Old Dominion University Research Foundation

BACKGROUND:
Old Dominion University Research Foundation provides fiscal and
administrative services in support of the research and sponsored program
activities of Old Dominion University.  Research Foundation operations
consist of accounting, sponsored programs, payroll, purchasing, human
resources, computer support and office services support.  This position is
in the sponsored programs department principally performing preaward
administration and managing a limited number of projects on a “soup to
nuts” basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent works in a team setting with other Grant and Contract
Administrators.  Primary responsibilities include budget preparation,
proposal submission, preparing and negotiating agreements and assuring high
quality customer service by maintaining effective communications.
Sponsored programs staff members also establish project accounts, approve
expenditures and ensure compliance with regulations, policies, procedures,
forms and guidelines for the conduct and management of research.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of related
experience.  Demonstrated ability to review and interpret policies and
procedures involving complex problems requiring substantial independent
judgment.  Interpersonal skills are required to work effectively in
situations involving competing opinions, significant deadline pressure or
multiple competing tasks.

SALARY:
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefit program.
Salary level is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
