Where to charge costs of annual progress report Fred Averick 12 Jul 2006 13:16 EST

Hi--

There's a bit of discussion here about where it's most appropriate to charge
the cost of hiring a designer to help us put together the annual progress
report we do on a large grant we have (the grant is for about $15M a year,
made up of around 30 different reserch projects and the report will probably
be about 100 or so pages long). The report is required but not a specific
format, and the directors want to include more graphics and a more
professional-looking layout (partilally to keep up with our peers, whose
reports are often quite professional looking).

We have funds awarded on the grant for parts of administrative salaries. Do
you think the cost of the designer is an appropriate direct cost to this
grant?

thanks,
Fred Averick
