Re: NSF Salary Question Berry, Matt L. 02 Jun 2006 15:14 EST

Dara,

If you are only speaking of those teaching faculty on 9 month
appointments, no we would not request more than 2/9. Now we have
research faculty/research scientists on 12 month appointments who
request any number of calendar months salary on proposals.

Subject: [RESADM-L] NSF Salary Question

Does anyone out there ever allow their faculty to submit NSF proposals
with more than 2 months summer salary requested? If so - how would/could
it be justified (other than a specific solicitation)?

2nd question - PI's on multiple subcontract's - NSF prime, does the 2
month rule still apply? I'd think so but thought I'd get a second
opinion...

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
