It is always a good idea to have an attorney review the contract. You
can contact your local bar association for a referral.

Thanks,

Robert

Subject: [RESADM-L] Legal Review

Greetings!

A colleague of mine is in the final stages of negotiating an
employment contract with a university to join their faculty. We were
discussing the situation and I suggested that she might want a lawyer
to review the agreement. Is it common practice for candidates to have
these employment contracts reviewed by a lawyer that represents them?
If so, does anyone have a reference for a lawyer or firm that
specializes in this type of academic situation?

Thanks.

Greg
