Re: PIs on Grants Baumann, John 05 Apr 2006 13:25 EST
I have been involved this sort of thing several times -- and they were handled in a variety of ways. For instance: bringing the person on as part time employee or making use of a subcontract. It all depended on a variety of factors, including, most importantly, the existing relationship between the PI and the grantee organization. Please feel free to give me a call to discuss in greater detail if you think it would be helpful. John John R. If so, how did you handle this? Is this allowed? If your institution employs the person/PI at the percent of effort you submitted the grant for, ie, submitting a grant with 30% effort for a PI, then hiring them as a part time employee for 30% of their time?
