Re: Recommendations for Grant Funding & Writing text book? Elsa Nadler 23 Mar 2006 16:50 EST

"Program Planning & Proposal Writing" published by the Grantsmanship
Center is a concise and well constructed guide. Its focus is on
nonprofits rather than higher education, but their basic pointers work
anywhere.

Thomas E. Ogden, Israel A. Goldberg. Research Proposals: A Guide to
Success (3rd edition). San Diego, CA: Academic Press, 2002. ISBN:
0-12-524733-8.
This is a superb treatise although the focus is very assertively on
NIH. Again, the more general comments are valid for any sponsor: state,
private, federal, industry...

Hello, Everyone. I have been asked by one of my faculty members to
recommend a text book for her to use in a series of workshops about
grants and funding for Social Justice Education students and faculty.

They are looking at "Getting Funded: The Complete Guide to Writing
Grant
Proposals" by Mary Hall & Susan Howlett - but they are concerned it
focuses too much on the non-profit sector.

Does anyone know of a good text or guide about grant funding/writing in

an educational context?

Thanks!
