Believe it or not, there can be some pretty tall faculty memebers out
there.  I worked (several years ago) for one who was 7'2".  He asked the
same question.

The response we got from 3 separate federal agencies is pretty much what
Carolyn Witt says below.  Pay the cost of the airfare up to the amount
of coach to the grant and the amount over that should be borne by
institutional or gift funds.
