What we ended up doing was printing each budget page to a PDF. Major pain, but that is what we had to do and then compiled it all into one file. Vonnie Y. However, the "extra "garbage" pages of just cells" that Vonnie mentions below are actually cells full of information that we need in the proposal. Has anyone figured out a way to make them larger, or just readable, in this conversion-to-PDF process? Thanks! --Sarah A. Rodriguez ________________________________________________ Sarah A. You still have to save all the attachments separately and then add them in to converted PDF. If you have a subaward xfd file, you have to view it, save it, right click, etc. Once it is in PDF format you can add it to your existing PDF file. Just a reminder that the budget file prints extra "garbage" pages of just cells, so those pages will need to be deleted before you email it out. We have 7 going from UM (that I know of-no telling how many I don't know about). We are strongly encouraging PIs to get their stuff in soon. This is the step we have been missing when trying to view and sometimes print a PureEdge file. While the granting agency can certainly "call the tune" and make the applicants do pretty much what they want, this extra request seems to violate the spirit of the Grants.gov Single Portal concept. I hope all who must do this will send a message to OMB complaining of the extra work being requested in the time of streamlining. In addition to submission through grants.gov, applicants are required to send an e-mail containing the entire application as a single pdf file to a specified e-mail address. Our first attempt at this has failed due to the size of the file. Our IT person had predicted this would be a problem, as "you can't zip a pdf". Has anyone successfully submitted the application package via e-mail? Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated. The deadline is March 6.
