Research Compliance Coordinator

Old Dominion University’s Office of Research seeks a qualified person to
serve as liaison officer to the University’s research protocol review
committees and promote responsible conduct of research.  The Research
Compliance Coordinator serves as advisor and consultant to the faculty
regulatory committees; will work with University personnel to insure
research compliance with federal, state and University regulations; will
perform initial reviews of submitted materials; maintain current knowledge
of existing policies; develop and coordinate research compliance training
for faculty and staff; develop and maintain a protocol tracking database
and support the maintenance of appropriate research compliance web pages.

The successful candidate will possess a master’s degree in a field related
to research or administration and several years of professional work
experience related to research administration in a technical, academic
environment.  Candidates must be able to analyze written regulatory
material and relate it to University policies and procedures.  They must be
able to communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of faculty and
student researchers.  They will coordinate meetings, maintain professional
documents and correspondence, and be proficient in the use of
computer-based word processing, spreadsheets and database systems.  Salary
will be commensurate with experience.
