Re: Mac OS X and PureEdge Viewer

Hello Mauneel,
I, too, had the same concern about Microsoft's decomissioning of Internet
Explorer for Macs and how that would impact my institution's ability to
submit proposals through Grants.gov.
But when I asked one of my IT folks about this, he told me that when you
connect to PureEdge through the Citrix solution, you are actually using
Grants.gov's version of IE which is sitting on one of their PC servers. The
Citrix ICA profile creates the connection between the Mac end user's
machine and the Grants.gov server so a Mac user of PureEdge does not need
to have the Mac version of IE installed on his or her machine.
One more note about using the Citrix solution...the size of the standard
browser window that appeared when I loaded PureEdge on a Mac was somewhat
small and affected the printing of the application (i.e. side margins got
cut off). When I asked the Grants.gov support team about this, they let me
know that you can change the settings in the profile to increase the
browser size. Here are the instructions I received:
"There are options inside the .ica connection file to change the default
size of connection window; specifically, the DesiredHRES=800 and
DesiredVRES=600 settings under the [IE PureEdge] heading. In order to edit
this file, you will need to open it in a text editor. This should also
correct the problem you are having when printing the application. If it
does not, or if you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to
contact us again."
