coordinator/administrator.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Compliance Coordinator will work with the RCA office to receive, triage,
prepare, and process research protocols for review by the appropriate CMU
regulatory committees at scheduled meetings or by electronic
communications. The Compliance Coordinator is the initial contact for the
CMU research community and will assist with the development of information
dissemination and presentation of educational compliance materials.
Compliance Coordinator will develop and maintain the database of protocols
received by Regulatory Compliance Administration and will distribute
notices to researchers using information found in the database. Compliance
Coordinator will work on other special projects as assigned by the
Director, RCA.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; at
least 2 or more years of related experience; basic understanding and
application of theoretical knowledge of research compliance as it related
to research administration; ability to function competently in a team
environment; excellent analytical, organizational, reasoning and problem
solving skills; ability to interact effectively with campus community and
external customers; excellent verbal and written communication skills;
computer literacy; ability to maintain accurate and detailed records;
maintains a high degree of integrity and confidentiality in processing data
and interacting with internal and external customers; normally sedentary
with some mobility; i.e., able to travel to other campus locations; may
require some bending, stretching, pushing as well as lifting of several
reams of paper, etc; work is usually performed in an office setting; may be
close contact with CRT for long periods of time; ability to pay close
attention to detail, meet inflexible deadlines, remain calm during
difficult situations, work under pressure and work with frequent
interruptions; week-end and evening hours may be required; successful
candidate must submit to through background check which includes
educational and criminal background checks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in an academic setting as well as some experience with IACUC
regulations and knowledge of A21, OHRP, ORI, USDA, and OLAW, guidelines.
