I'm looking for examples of policies related t
budgeting/reporting/documenting summer salary/effort, particularly the
3/9ths summer salary allowed by NIH, for faculty who have 9 month
appointments at institutions on a semester (rather than quarter or other
system).

I've seen Northwestern's policy, which provides a lot of guidance about
whether faculty getting 3/9th summer salary can take any time off during
the summer or do work related to their academic year responsibilies
(such as course prep).   But Northwestern is on a quarter system so the
details don't quite transfer.
