I recognize that many institutions have long had dedicated eRA positions
or offices. In our case, we have managed to get by to this point with
portions of a couple different people assuming responsibility for
various sponsor requirements within their "other duties as assigned."
With the NIH, our predominant sponsor, now poised to demand our use of
Grants.gov, we feel we need "dedicated" staff in this area. I would
greatly appreciate sample job descriptions if anyone is willing to share
them.
The general expectations we would like to include within our position
are:
- Maintaining knowledge of current and planned sponsor requirements.
- Developing and delivering training to both central and divisional
staff.
- Maintaining institutional profiles, facilitating the registration of
investigators.
- Troubleshooting proposal submissions.
Thanks.
- Pete
