*ADVERTISEMENT EXECUTIVE OFFICER - ALASKA INBRE* Job Summary: Serve as program administrator for the IDeA Networks for Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) program grant and interrelated expansion programs working closely with the director to achieve program goals of building a multi-disciplinary research network and administering the program in accordance with public law related to grant awards, National Institutes of Health, IRS, state, and UA policies and regulations. Promote the development and expansion of unique, innovation, state-of-the-art biomedical and behavioral research. Responsible for program data collection and completion of annual (technical) progress reports. Responsible for any UA or other requests for information related to program progress. Administer program policies and procedures for the various programs components including internal awards; visiting scientists, faculty and student travel awards. Facilitate multi-institution research initiatives to enhance development and implementation of interdisciplinary biomedical research and educational activities; and to increase technological knowledge of the state's workforce. Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position: Knowledge of grant and contract management, ability to manage a complex program with multiple components; Knowledge and understanding of rural Alaska and UA's role in delivering academic opportunities. Well developed and demonstrated planning and developmental skills. Excellent interaction, facilitation and public presentation skills. Understanding of the UA structure and individual campus instructional and research programs. Knowledge of proposal preparation guidelines, especially NIH. Knowledge of program reporting and evaluation measures. Ability to communicate with a diverse audience, including administration, faculty, and students, and non-university members. Typical education or training required for this position (including licenses): Bachelor's degree is required. The field is preferably science, but could be in management, public policy, or liberal arts. Valid drivers license.
