University of Toledo reported $33.8 million in sponsored research in
2005. Applications are accepted now for the following position:
POSITION TITLE: Research Compliance Officer (REPOSTING Job #0796)
CATEGORY: Professional Staff, Full time, 12-month appointment
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has the responsibility for coordinating
and monitoring all aspects of research compliance on campus. Additional
duties include, but are not limited to, serving as the primary point of
contact on issues related to research misconduct, advising and training
research faculty about issues related to human subjects, animal
research, radioactive materials, and the use of biohazardous materials,
serving as a member of various compliance committees on campus, and
working with the compliance officers on campus to ensure that programs
are adequately supported and administered.
The Research Compliance Officer will work with the Director of the
Animal Care Facility and other core laboratories to establish fee
structures for grant and contract work conducted in UT labs. The
Research Compliance Officer is also responsible for establishing and
monitoring a system to ensure UT is in compliance with federal reporting
requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS: A successful candidate must hold a Master's degree in a
scientific discipline. A minimum of 2-4 years experience serving as the
primary point of contact on issues relating to research compliance and
research misconduct, specifically reading and interpreting federal and
state regulations and preparing reports for submission to agencies, is
required.
SALARY: The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000 per
year.
