Re: DDTC Registration under ITAR

All,
Here is a response we received from the folks at USU in charge of
handling this very issue. I hope it proves to be helpful.
Response Follows:
"We have registered and did not list the ssn, or date or place of birth.
We indicated it was at the advice of our legal counsel. There was no
issue with DDTC. However, we did reflect citizenship, home address, etc.
Citizenship was listed because that is the point of DDTC and export
licenses and we wanted to show people on the board were US citizens."

Subject: [RESADM-L] DDTC Registration under ITAR
If you are a public institution with a governing Board of Regents and
you recently registered with Director of Defense Trade Controls so that
you can license foreign nationals under ITAR, can you tell me if you
included a listing of the regents (and their personal info--SSN, place
and date of birth, home address, citizenship) in your registration
application? We are debating if this is necessary. However, I'm
hesitant to call and ask DDTC because we may get someone who doesn't
know and errs on the side of caution and tells us we must submit it. I
get the idea from our systems office that the regents, who are elected,
wouldn't be too happy about having to share this information.
Thanks.
Barbara
