Re: US Dept of Education & Foreign Travel Lisa Long 19 Sep 2005 07:44 EST
I work in a medical center, and we have just received our first Dept of Ed grant. Could you please refer me to a way that I can easily access their governing policies? (I'm looking for something like the NIH Grants Policy Statement.) Thank you, Lisa Long, PhD Grants Specialist Office of Sponsored Research Allegheny-Singer Research Institute 320 E. I know we treat their prior approval as a general truism, but I have not been able to find ED's specific requirement. I've had 2 of their officials (a regional rep and their Grants Policy Office) cite A-122 as the source, however, I don't think A-122 governs university grantees; we are normally covered by A-21. I checked EDGAR, which refers to A-21 for allowable costs for educational institutions. A-21 doesn't make a distinction between domestic and foreign travel, so it appears to be silent on the issue. Our ED grant award notifications do not indicate any special terms and conditions in this regard. Is it somewhere else or have I overlooked it in the usual places? Any clues will be greatly appreciated! ====================================================================== Instructions on how to use the RESADM-L Mailing List, including subscription information and a web-searchable archive, are available via our web site at http://www.hrinet.org (click on "Listserv Lists") ====================================================================== ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
